Class of 2011 Presents Gift to THS

The class has built a beautiful outdoor patio for Tolland High School students.

The Class of 2011 officially presented its class gift, a new outdoor patio for students to enjoy, at a ribbon cutting ceremony last week.

Last year's class officers returned home from their first year of college to dedicate the gift with Tolland High School faculty.

"We wanted to give something that everybody in the school could use," said 2011 class president Brittany Wasilewski, who is attending Central Connecticut State University.

Wasilewski and her fellow officers said that their class raised a large amount of money from , enabling them to give their generous gift.

Earthworks Landscaping built the patio, which is located in front of the cafeteria. Patio furniture will be arriving shortly.

"I think it's a useful gift, too," added treasurer Olivia Hooding, now a Lehigh University student. "People will be able to use it and appreciate it for years to come."
