“As kids we used to pull out the drawers then climb up them like stairs.”

Family life is an inspiration in MacDonald’s work. Another of her drawings is of her brother Brody.

“When I go to college, I’m going to miss my brother’s quirkiness and the weirdness of my family,” she joked. MacDonald received a scholarship and has been accepted into the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia.

Junior Rachel Watson plans to get a double major in art when she attends college in a couple years, but for now is taking every art class that is available to her. Her impressive jewelry work is on display at the center.

The student artwork will be on display again today, March 4, as well as next weekend, March 10 and 11, from noon to 4 p.m. For additional information on the exhibit or directions, please call Arts of Tolland at 860-871-7405.
