RESCHEDULED: Tolland Garden Paths Gala Opening

The Tolland Garden Paths club is comprised of a diverse group of people with an interest in gardening. The club is dedicated to public service, education and sharing fun times with each other. Special events, meetings, tours and field trips are some of the activities for members.

Opening day for the 2011 season has been rescheduled from Feb.5 to Saturday Feb. 12, 9:30am - 12:00pm. There will be a presentation on Shade Gardening by Andy Brand, general manager from Broken Arrow Nursery in Hamden.

His talk is on “Woodland Beauties”, which are species appropriate for the mature oak forest that we live in.  Andy is a much sought after speaker and will also be presenting at UConn’s Garden Conference 2011.

The gala opening is free and open to the public, as are all of our presentations.  Refreshments will be served and there will be a short business meeting before the presentation.

Attendees are not obligated to join, but it is an event that showcases the opportunities available to members and the calendar of events will be made available to all.  In return for membership privileges, the members maintain several public gardens in town.
