June 1: Tolland Lacrosse/Softball Wrap Up

The lacrosse team played a tough game against Weston in the Class S State Tournament.

Lacrosse:

The Eagles fought a tough game against Weston in the first round of the Class S state tournament, but were ultimately outmatched, 18-4. According to coach Victor Hurtuk, Weston took an early three-point lead, which was initially countered by goals from Cody Daigle and Sean Walker. 

However, Weston continued to pull ahead. Hurtuk highlighted game performances by Jimmy Harrison with two assists, Patrick McManaman who scooped up seven groundballs, and Sam Mayer with 14 saves.

"The Eagles wrap up their season with their heads high knowing to be the best you have to beat the best," Hurtuk said. "We graduate 7 seniors but they leave much experience and hope for the 2013 season having returned to postseason play after a year off. We wish them luck on their future endeavors and thank them for the ride this spring."

Tolland (13-9) played against Rocky Hill (19-1) on Wednesday, with Rocky Hill taking the close game, 1,0. 

According to the game summary sent to Tolland Patch, Ashley Michancyzk pitched six scoreless innings.
