New Drop Off Route Established at TIS

Parents of Tolland Intermediate School students will be required to follow this new procedure when dropping off their children.

has a new drop off procedure in place to increase student safety this school year, according to a release sent to Tolland Patch.

The driveway and parking lot in front of the school will now be closed to parents dropping off their children. They are directed to come up the Recreation Department driveway and to use the Parker School parking lot, the release said. Visitors should also use the Parker School lot.

The buses will pull in through the regular TIS driveway. 

The lot in front of TIS will be designated for staff parking, according to the release.

It's about time! I occasionally dropped my daughter off in the morning during the past two years, and the parking lot was always a dangerous mess. Fortunately, she is now in the middle school, which has had an established drop-off pattern for years. However, I applaud the TIS administration for finally fixing the problem.
