Superintendent: Tolland High School Lockdown Lifted

Tolland High School was placed into lockdown as a precautionary measure after a student told a staff member about a rumor of "potential violence."

Tolland High School was briefly put into lockdown on Monday afternoon after a student informed a staff member about "potential violence," according to Superintendent William Guzman.

Guzman said that staff were unsure if the "potential violence" was going to take place on school grounds or not. He said that state police were called in to investigate, and as a precaution, the school was put into lockdown.

As of shortly after 2 p.m., the lockdown had been lifted, and students were released to go home, Guzman said.
