TIS and Birch Grove Back to School Events

The first day of school is just around the corner, and there are plenty of events to help students and their families get back into the academic swing of things before school starts on August 29.

Back to School Bonanza, TIS, Aug. 27 from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Tolland Elementary PTO is holding a Back to School Bonanza at on August 27. TEPTO President Karen Moran said that parents can pick up pre-ordered school supply boxes and calendars at the event. Spirit wear and excuse pads will be for sale, as well, and both the Friends of Tolland Schools and Tolland Education Foundation will be in attendance. 

TEPTO will also hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the day of the bonanza to mark the second phase of the , Moran said.

Kindergarten Bus Orientation, , Aug. 23

TIS Meet and Greet, TIS, Aug. 27

A specific schedule for the meet and greet will be mailed to parents this summer, according to the school district website.

Birch Grove Meet and Greet, Aug. 28

Grade 1 activities start at 2 p.m. and grade 2 starts at 1 p.m.

Grade 1 Curriculum Night – Sept 13, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Grade 2 Curriculum Night – Sept. 27,  6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Ice Cream Social - Friday, Sept. 28 at TIS,  6 - 8 p.m.

Cider Mill Road Race - Saturday, Sept. 29

Kindergarten Open House – Oct. 2 (AM K  6:15-6:45)  (PM K 7:00 – 7:30)
