The following students were named to the Dean's List at the University of New Haven for the spring 2013 semester. Full-time undergraduate students must have a 3.50 or better cumulative GPA for the semester to be eligible for the Dean's List:

Austin Shelton has graduated from the Connecticut River Academy at Goodwin College, one of 28 students who represent the first-ever class to graduate from the new magnet school.

Shelton, of Tolland, celebrated with classmates on Monday, June 17, during a moving ceremony held at Goodwin College in East Hartford. The Academy shares the Goodwin College campus and many of the Connecticut River Academy graduates took college courses at Goodwin.

The following local residents are among those to be named to the Roger Williams University Dean's List for the Spring 2013 semester. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

Fairfield University has announced that the following local residents have been named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2013 semester:

The following student was among the 176 graduates from the Loomis Chaffee Class of 2013:

Eric Venezia of Tolland, was a member of the boys varsity soccer and tennis teams.

Kaitlin Flynn from Tolland was named to the Spring 2013 Dean's List at Wake Forest University.

•

Christopher Juber of Tolland graduated from the University of New Haven in May 2013 with a B.S. in Forensic Science.

•

Kelly Schatzlein, a resident of Tolland, was named to the Spring Semester 2013 Dean's List at Merrimack College. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve a 3.25 grade point average or higher, based on a 4.0 grading system.

The following local residents made the Dean's List for Spring 2013 quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology:

Solomon Boucher of Tolland is a fourth-year student in the computer science program in RIT's B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.

Mitchell Cook of Tolland is a fourth-year student in the computer engineering program in RIT's Kate Gleason College of Engineering.

Alex George of Tolland is a fifth-year student in the game design and development program in RIT's B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.

Rebecca Lavernoich of Tolland is a second-year student in the medical illustration program in RIT's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.

Anna Vecchi of Tolland is a fourth-year student in the graphic design program in RIT's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.

Todd Williams of Tolland is a fifth-year student in the software engineering program in RIT's B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.

Tolland's Solomon Boucher, a third-year computer science student in RIT's B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences, has been selected as a recipient of the Norman A. Miles Award for Academic Excellence. He will receive $9,317 in tuition funding for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Matthew Kenney of Tolland graduated from the University of New Haven on May 19, 2013 with a Masters in Environmental Science.

Leah Thompson of Tolland graduated in May 2013 from Hofstra University with a BSED in Music Education . Leah was among more than 2,000 undergraduate, graduate and law students who celebrated completing their studies at commencement ceremonies in the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.

Nearly 1,300 students graduated from Western Connecticut State University this spring to join the workforce or move on to graduate school. The ceremony took place under bright sunshine at the university's Westside campus.

Ashley Piader of Tolland earned a degree in Nursing.

Ashley Ransom of Tolland earned a degree in Professional Writing.

Heather Shonty of Tolland earned a degree in Management.

Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, is pleased to announce its graduates from the annual Commencement held on May 18-19. Approximately 1,500 graduates received degrees from Sacred Heart University this year. Area residents who received degrees include:
