The latest from local students in college.

Benjamin Braz of Tolland was recently recognized for achieving academic distinction at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Braz, majoring in sound recording technology, was named to the dean's list at UMass Lowell for the fall 2013 semester.



The following students have been named to Dean's List at Western New England University for the fall semester of 2013. Students are named to the Dean's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher:

Joseph D. Pearson of Tolland, majoring in Electrical Engineering.

Bryan J. Blair of Tolland, majoring in Exploratory.

Patrick W. Zangari of Tolland, majoring in Secondary Education-History.

Jacob N. White of Tolland, majoring in Sport Management.

Sarah E. Baron of Tolland, majoring in Sport Management.



Susan A. Montalvo of Tolland, has been named to the President's List at Western New England University for the fall semester of 2013. Montalvo is majoring in Social Work. Students are named to the President's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.80 or higher.

Marissa Bedard of Tolland has been named to the Dean's List for the Fall Semester 2013 at Baldwin Wallace University, according to Stephen D. Stahl, Provost. Students who receive at least a 3.6 GPA for seven or more graded hours in a single semester are named to the Dean's List.

Charles Delany of Tolland was named to the President's List at Lyndon State College for the fall 2013 semester. For inclusion on the President's List, students have to complete at least 15 letter-graded credits with no incomplete or failing grades, grades in at least four different courses, and a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. Charles is a Junior and is majoring in Sustainability Studies.



Nichols College has announced the Dean's List for the fall semester of 2013. The Dean's List gives recognition to those students who achieve high grades during a single semester. In order to be included in the Dean's List, a student must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.2 for at least 12 credit-hours and receive no grade below a C+ during the semester. A student who earns a grade point average of 3.6 or higher is awarded Dean's High Honors.

The fall semester Dean's List at Bryant University includes:

Matthew Beckius, a Sophomore from Tolland.

Christopher Cassidy, a Senior in Finance from Tolland.

Nicholas Lebel, a Freshman in Finance from Tolland.

Kyle Sprague, a Senior in Accounting from Tolland.



Jenna Lovett, a member of the class of 2016 at Connecticut College and a resident of Tolland, has been named to the Dean's High Honors list for the 2013 fall semester.

At Connecticut College, Dean's Honors is a recognition for students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.65, and Dean's High Honors is a recognition for students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.77.



Keene State College has released the Dean's List for the fall semester 2013. Among the 1,498 students named to the Dean's List is Andrew White of Tolland.

The Dean's List designation is bestowed to those Keene State College undergraduates enrolled in a degree program who have completed a minimum of six credit hours in the semester, receiving no failing or incomplete grades. A 3.5 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale is required to earn the Dean's List honor.



Michael Penda, a resident of Tolland, and a member of the class of 2014, has been named to the Dean's List at Providence College for the Fall 2013 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must achieve at least a 3.55 grade point average with a minimum of 12 credits.
