Tolland Girls Cross Country Team Honored for Championship Win

The team won the Class M championship title for the second year in a row.

The Tolland High School girls cross country team was recognized for winning its second consecutive Class M State Championship title at the Wednesday board of education meeting.

Coach Judi LaFontaine accepted a plaque from the school board with the team present.

LaFontaine said that several team members, Courtney Akerley, Molly Kozlowski and Melissa Caron also competed at the All-State Open and placed third, fourth and fifth.

Akerley, Kozlowski, Caron and Tori Cronin and Shauna Maresh earned All Conference honors in the CCC East, LaFontaine said.
