Annual 5K & Family Fun Run Road Closures

From the Town of Tolland:

On Saturday, October 1st the Cider Mill Road Race Committee will sponsor its 12th Annual 5K & Family Fun Run.

Registration and pre-registration begins at 8:00 am at the Pavilion. Parking is available in the lower lot of Crandall’s Park, Crandall’s II, Tolland Intermediate School and Lion’s Field. Shuttle service is no longer available.

The activity begins at 9:00 am at Crandall Park with the Cider Kids races for preschool through 2nd graders, followed by a mile fun run at 9:45 am and concludes with a 5K beginning at 10:30 am.

The race is truly a community event and is a great opportunity for runners of all ages in Tolland to participate. All of the funds raised from Cider Mill go back to benefit the Tolland Elementary PTO, Tolland Middle School PTO, Tolland High School Booster Club and the Tolland Recreation Department and their efforts to promote physical fitness within the Tolland schools and community. The races happen rain or shine so come out and show your Tolland spirit! Walkers are welcome in all races.

Road closures on Cider Mill Road, Grant Hill Road and Gehring Road Ext. will be taking place around 9:30 a.m. and remain closed until the majority of 5k walkers are finished at approximately 11:15 a.m.
