Bear Sighted in Tolland's Crandall Park

A Monday walk on June 30 resulted in a startling sight for a woman and her dog.

A woman was taking a Monday morning walk with her dog at Crandall Park in Tolland when they came across a bear.

"The bear saw them and stood and watched them for a second then our dog saw it and took off after it (not a smart idea) but the bear ran off," husband Mick George told Patch today. "This was near the lodge."

She was unable to take a picture, George said.
