Hundreds turned out for the Memorial Day parade and wreath-laying ceremony on Sunday.

Hundreds of Tolland residents turned out for the town's Memorial Day festivities on Sunday, as the town marked the holiday with both a parade and a wreath-laying ceremony at

Maj. Alan Nolan led the ceremony at TIS, which included a performance of the "Star-Spangled Banner" by , and a reading from WWII veteran Sir Barry Simons.

Tolland residents donated just under $500 to the VFW Auxiliary throughout the day, according to Permanent Celebration Committee member Kate Farrish, who said that the funds will be used to buy household and personal items for local veterans.
