Tell Us: How Do You Prepare Your Garden for the Growing Season?

It has been a beautiful week, and this weekend promises to be just as nice. With the sun shining and the temperatures were in the 60s and 70s, lots of people have been outside picking up fallen branches and raking away leafy debris from hidden garden beds.

Local garden clubs have also started advertising community work days and seed packets are starting to fly off the shelves of the local farm and gardening supply stores.

Novice gardeners checked out books from the local libraries or consulted the University of Connecticut College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Cooperative Extension Program's home and garden site

Tell us, what advice can you share with your neighbors as they prepare their own gardens for the growing season? Do you have any tips or tricks that, over the years, have proven to be fool-proof, at least for those who don't have green thumbs? What are the pros and cons to raised beds versus a traditional garden plot? What about joining a local CSA?
