Parents training in the Martial Arts
When I first approached the town about opening a Martial Arts studio, I had the idea that the majority of our customer base would be boys, teens and men. There are many activities in town for girls, such as gymnastics, dance, cheerleading, girl scouts, etc. However, there's not too many activities for boys to do outside of organized sports. The town agreed and I was off and running with my business. Fast forward 3 months I have fitness classes full of Moms and children's classes filled with girls, who knew? I guess what I am trying to say is that it amazed me how much interest there was for parents in the martial arts. Is it a confidence thing? Is it a way to feel better about yourself? Or is it another way in which you can protect your family? In my opinion I think its all of the above. I have seen amazing improvements in all of our parents training at IPD. I am seeing smiles from ear to ear and light bulbs going off after every class. Attached you will see a couple videos sampling the type of activity we conduct at IPD. I sincerely hope more parents will join us!
