Joyce honored for his idea

Town council chairman Jack Scavone, Kathy Bach, vice president of the Tolland Historical Society, and Celeste Senechal, chairwoman of the Tolland 300th Anniversary Committee honored longtime resident David S. Joyce at tonight's town council meeting. Dave was the first resident to donate $300 to the anniversary committee and suggested that all residents be asked to donate the same amount. The committee took his idea and ran with it, creating the Tolland 300 Club. Club members receive a commemorative pin, early and frequent updates about plans for the 2015 anniversary, and will be listed at tolland300.org and on all promotional materials. Great idea, Dave.
