Tolland 300th Commemorative Programs are Now Available

With one year to go to Tolland’s 300th anniversary, the official anniversary commemorative program will go on sale this Saturday, May 7 at the Tolland Farmers Market, which is held on the historic town green from 9 a.m. to noon.
The 64-page program contains a new timeline of Tolland history and many photos from the Tolland Historical Society. The program, produced by the Tolland 300th Anniversary Committee, also includes individual histories and photos of numerous town government departments, churches and civic groups.
The program also unveils a calendar of dozens of anniversary-themed events being held in 2015 by the anniversary committee, the historical society and many museums and civic groups in Tolland.
The programs are being sold for $20, with the proceeds going directly to support anniversary projects and events, including a new monument to honor Tolland’s founders, a Charter Day celebration, a gala, a large regional parade and a townwide picnic.
The program was edited by Tolland 300th Anniversary Committee secretary Kate Farrish and designed and produced by James Gifford, a Tolland 300th volunteer and owner of NitroPress Creative Services of Tolland.
You can purchase the program at the Farmers Market or by contacting Kate at 860-871-8089 or at katefarrish@live.com.
