Tolland Beats Rocky Hill, 4-1

Four unanswered goals from the Tolland Boys Varsity soccer squad after going down 1-0 powered Tolland to a decisive 4-1 win over previously unbeaten Rocky Hill in a CCC showdown at Cross Farms In Tolland.

Rocky Hill's senior captain Julian Fonseca opened the scoring with a 25 yard free kick just 2:19 into the match. Sophomore Jeremy Cardella tied the match with his first varsity goal at 34:06 off senior Jordan Smith's long throw in.  The half ended tied at 1-1.

Senior captain Tyson Bridge opened up the 2nd half up with a brace of goals less than 5 minutes apart.  His first, off another Jordan Smith throw, came at 10:18 of the second half.  The next, a brilliant header off a set piece from Derek Lee, came at 15:17 to widen the lead to 3-1.  Sophomore Tommy Leahy closed out the scoring with his first varsity goal, a left footed volley off an Alex Weekes cross at 37:30.

Nick Olson recorded 9 saves in goal for Tolland.  Mike Bardonara had 12 saves in goal for Rocky Hill.

Tolland, 4-1, 3-1 in the CCC East travels to Hartford Public on
Tuesday.  Rocky Hill, 4-1, 3-1 CCC East is on the road to Rockville on Tuesday.
