Tolland Boys Soccer Tops Rockville, 6-1

Senior Alex Weekes tallied two goals and an assist, while senior co-captain Tommy Allen notched three assists as the Tolland Boys Soccer squad upped their record to  2-1 with a 6-1 win at Rockville on Monday.

The Eagles started out well, but struggled to find the net early.  Junior Zac Parracino opened the scoring at 8:51, finishing the first of Tommy Allen's assists.  The rest of the half saw the Rams stiffen defensively and make life difficult for Tolland.  The chances Tolland did have were wasted or saved by Rockville goalkeeper Brandon Jones.  Finally with just 22 seconds left in the half, Tyson Bridge finished an Alex Weekes throw in to double the Eagles lead.

The start of the second half was even more lively as Weekes proved a handful for the young Rockville team.  First Allen, then Tyler Impey assisted on Weekes' goals in to push the margin to 4-0 just 5:29 into the 2nd half.  The two goals were only 2:29 apart.  Derek Lee's sliding finish off Tommy Allen's third assist made it 5-0, before Rockville made their way onto the scoreboard.  A Matt Tracy free kick was headed past Eagles netminder Kyle Boutot by Manane Adayi for Rockville's only goal of the game with just under 24 minutes left.  Sophomores Mike Zimmerman and Jeremy Cardella combined for Tolland's last goal as Zimmerman buried a pass from Cardella to make the final 6-1.

Nick Olson and Kyle Boutot shared the goalkeeper duties for Tolland.

The Eagles head to Bloomfield at 4:30 pm on Wednesday for a match with the Defending Class S state champion Warhawks.
