Take a Book, Leave a Book! Spring is just around the corner, and the Tolland Youth Garden is adding a Free Little Library to the Youth Garden located next to Lions’ Club Ball Field at Crandall Park. We are seeking service organizations, youth or faith-based groups, school clubs or classes, interested individuals or skilled woodworkers to build a Free Little Library. These waterproof, wooden structures with see-through doors hold donated books for anyone to stop by and pick up and to leave behind books for others. The Library offers a gathering place for people to share their favorite literature and stories. Youth Garden programs offer children, teens and families opportunities to plant and nurture vegetables, flowers, and herbs, to gain an awareness of the natural world around them and to harvest fresh produce for local food banks and soup kitchens. Interested individuals or groups should contact Christine at 860 870-8324 or tgpyouthgarden@comcast.net for more information about the TGP Youth Garden or Free Little Libraries.
