Music on the Green - A Concert Series in Tolland

Dan and Annette Pavone, accompanied by Ken Clark, will present a Broadway Revue on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at 3:30 p.m. at the United Congregational Church of Tolland, 45 Tolland Green, Tolland, CT.  Donation: $10.  For information, call 860-875-4160.

Everyone loves Broadway music! A tune from a Broadway play always makes us happy. Dan and Annette Pavone’s Broadway Revue will warm your hearts and get your thoughts out of the snow and the cold of winter.  They will sing selections from your favorite musicals such asLes Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, South Pacific, Guys & Dolls, Oklahoma, Ragtime, Candide, The Secret Garden and much more! And since the next day is St. Patrick’s Day, you can expect to hear an Irish song or two to get you thinking Green.  A reception follows the concert. 

Annette began performing in musical theater productions in high school, and studied classical music and opera at the Eastman School of Music and at the University of Connecticut. While at UConn, she performed in several opera productions and recitals, including the roles of Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi and both Hansel and Gretel in Hansel and Gretel. With the Windham Theater Guild, Annette has portrayed Maria in The Sound of Music, Vi in Footloose, Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and has sung in numerous special events. She has been featured as a soloist with the Eastern Connecticut State University Chorale and with the Willimantic Renaissance Revival, and was employed as a chorister with the Connecticut Opera. When not singing, she is employed as an Accounting Manager at the University of Connecticut.

Dan Pavone studied voice and received a degree in music education from the University of Connecticut. He has performed in sixteen main stage productions with the Windham Theatre Guild in Willimantic, including as Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music, Teen Angel in Grease, Reverend Moore inFootloose, Johnny Cantone in 1940s Radio Hour, the Wizard inThe Wiz, El Gallo in The Fantasticks, and Archibald Craven inThe Secret Garden. Dan has also been the musical director for the WTG Broadway Chorus since 2004 and has performed in various fundraising events at the Burton Leavitt Theatre. Dan has been featured as a bass soloist with the Eastern Connecticut State University Chorale and with the Willimantic Renaissance Revival.  He owns and operates Dan's Awards and Engraving in Willimantic.  Annette and Dan reside in Mansfield with their three children.

Ken Clark, accompanist, has done theater work in the area since 1979, including How To Succeed . . . at E.O. Smith, Hairspray at UConn, and The Secret Garden at the Windham Theater Guild.He is scheduled for 2013-2014 in Blood Brothers at the Guild, A Christmas Carol at the Hartford Stage Company, The Mystery of Edwin Drood at E.O. Smith, and Legally Blonde at UConn. He has also taught piano at UConn since 1981.
