Big Y Employees Clean Up Senior Center

Local Big Y employees gave back to Tolland on Thursday, giving the senior center community service day.

"We cleaned out the shed, washed the windows, shined up the stainless steel and washed the floors today," said Big Y employee service representative Louise Collins, who worked with about a dozen other employees for the day.

Collins said that Big Y employees assisted a number of Tolland residents with yard work last year. She said she decided to reach out to the senior center, since the two groups have previously collaborated together on the Tolland Food Bank.

"I just thought it's a great way to help out the seniors in the community," Collins said.
