The relatively new Cross Farms Recreation Comples is nearly a hidden treasure, neighboring Birch Grove PrimaryMore School. The 100-acre park features three soccer fields, two baseball fields with 90-foot bases and one baseball field with 60-foot bases. The park also has more than a mile of hiking trails that connect to the nearby high school, as well as a Family Fitness Trail. Perhaps what makes this site most unique is the fact that it has the only official 18-hole disc golf course in town, which threads through the woods, giving athletes both a solid workout and a lovely view of nature while they play.

Home to the only public beach and swimming area  in Tolland, Crandall Park also has four miles of hiking trails onMore varied terrain. There are playgrounds, picnic areas and lighted basketball and tennis courts as well as baseball and softball fields. For special events, groups can rent the open-sided pavilion and the spacious yet cozy lodge overlooking Powell Pond, a three-acre body of water that can be used for non-motorized boating or fishing for largemouth bass and bluegills.
