Tolland Library Hosting Program on Bears

The seminar is on tap for Aug. 20.

Come find out about the bear necessities - and the realities surrounding them - at the Tolland Public Library.

Felicia Ortner, a Connecticut master wildlife conservationist and a bear enthusiast, is scheduled to host an informational seminar about bears on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 6:30 pm.

One focus of the program is how to dispel misunderstandings about bears.

Ortner has been studying bears for more than 25 years. In the mid-1990s, she  turned her passion for learning about bears into a passion for teaching about them. She has developed an education program called "The Bear Reality," which will be presented at the library.

The library is located at 21 Tolland Green. The program is free and open to the public. Call (860) 871-3620 to register.
