Tolland High School Evacuated Due to Carbon Monoxide Alert

Around 10 a.m., on Friday, Tolland High School was evacuated due to a carbon monoxide alert.

The students were taken to Tolland Middle School, where they will be dismissed from. Students who take the bus are being dismissed from the TMS auditorium.

According to Connecticut State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance, a carbon monoxide detector went off in the loading dock area and that the students were moved for precautionary reasons. 

Tolland Assistant Public Safety Director Doug Racicot said that five food service workers were transported to Rockville General Hospital and Manchester Memorial Hospital to be evaluated. 

He said that an odor triggered the response and that it was isolated to the kitchen.
