What to do in Tolland This Weekend: April 5 - 7
There are several items to choose from, but here's a peak at just a few things going on in and around Tolland this weekend.
1. The Star Hill Family Athletic Center is offering a free sports performance training workshop on Saturday at 10 a.m.
According to a post to the Tolland Patch Events section, the event is "open to all interested athletes (ages 8-21) coaches, and parents. Includes skill assessments, as well as clinics on proper conditioning techniques to improve speed, agility, quickness, strength, power, and endurance."

2. The Arts of Tolland is hosting its 10th-annual Juried Art Show begining this weekend.
An opening reception is scheduled for Sunday, April 7, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Arts Center on the Tolland Green. An awards ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m.
3. The Spirit of Spring 5K race is happening Saturday, starting from the high school. The event includes a certified 5K course and new timing technology for runners.
You can register the day of the race (online registration is now closed) for the 5K or the shorter Kim's Fun Run, which is a 1 mile fun run around the area that starts at 9 a.m.
4. Our Companions in Ashford is hosting an adoption event at the sanctuary on Saturday.
The event is from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m. at the 46 Floeting Road facility. The group invites prospective pet owners to come to meet the animals available for adoption (pets will not be adopted the day of the event.)
5. Are you interested in learning more about holistic practices? Curious about the potential benefits? Or just curious? The sixth annual Greater Vernon Holistic Healthfest to be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 6 and 7, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Vernon Center Middle School.
